Sign It! Student Alliance Campaign

Please take a few seconds of your time to sign an important statement calling for the preservation of federal student aid programs, particularly the Pell Grant and student loan programs.  Signing the statement will demonstrate to our elected officials that we care about access to higher education, and that this access becomes more important, not less, in tough economic times.

This campaign is being organized by the Student Aid Alliance, a coalition of 74 higher education associations and advocacy groups.  The Alliance announced a campaign recently to fight possible cuts to federal financial aid as the bipartisan Congressional committee on deficit reduction enters the final month before its November 24th deadline to cut $1.2 trillion from the federal deficit.

The statement of support affirms that, given the tough economy, it is “more important than ever to preserve, protect and provide adequate funding for the core federal student aid programs – such as Pell Grants and student loan benefits.”  Currently 100,000 signatures have already been collected – but we need your help to support this cause!
